Emotional Wellness

Today is ‪#‎wellnesswednesday‬ and those of you who know me, know I speak most of Emotional Wellness. Today, was a day of Emotional Wellness for me. I struggle most with putting “ME” first. As a working mom of three littles and a wife, I often feel myself putting my family’s needs, before mine. Another struggle I have, is waiting until I am on overload, to start to release the stress. My release was often started by fighting with my husband or taking out my frustration on someone I loved.

A year and a half ago I started my journey to get “ME” back and today, I broke that cycle. Instead of waiting until OVERLOAD set in– I cut it off as I felt it starting. Over the past year, I have been trying to get in tune with the signs of my stress levels getting too high and I felt them starting to rise. The next effort of change was that I STARTED! I put “ME” first today.

Recently, we asked our CHALLENGERS to write down some things that help them relieve stress. My stress relievers are in the picture below. Today, I did everything on that list. Today, I let go of stress and absorbed AWESOMENESS. With each thing I did, I was able to take deeper breaths, relax, and be “ME”. Somedays, we just need it.
